Don't blame me, for falling in love with you, I'm
Can't you see, when you do the things you do,_______if
under your spell, but how can I help it! Don't blame Me.______________
I can't conceal the things tht I'm fee__ling, Don't blame Me!______________
I can't help it if that dog____gone moon a_____ bove.___________
makes me need, someone like you to love...........
Blame your kiss, as sweet as a kiss can be and
blame all your charms, how you melt in my arms, but Don't blame
This is another great little Jazz riff of the '30s. Rudy Vallee's recording was released on July 7,1933, followed by Leo Reisman's release for Victor Records 4 days later and Ethel Waters a week later still. Other notable releases were by Johnnie Ray 1952 and Ella Fitzgerald 1968. Kate Smith featured it in a Carnegie Hall concert in 1963. Frank Ifield, Australian singer gave it an up-tempo hard rock reading which rose quickly in the UK charts to number #8 in 1964. The cover I prefer was by Nat King Cole. It is available on You Tube.
This arrangement:
I am indebted to GoChords colleague, "Eddie68" whose chart I have referred to in putting my arangement down. Some chords used are open to interpretation. I leave that to others to argue... .
I think this is a wonderul little song to use if you are interested, as I am, in flirting with unconventional chords & progessions. I am not always able to follow the circle of 4ths when laying down my voicings.
